FoodCon Co-Chair Elisa is an MBA candidate at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. She is originally from Los Angeles, California and holds a B.A. in Legal Studies with a minor in Conservation and Resource Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. After graduating from UC Berkeley, Elisa joined a small, organic food company called Living Tree Community Foods. She progressed from Account Manager to Operations Manager during her time there, and contributed to substantial sustainability improvements in raw ingredient procurement and manufacturing. At Living Tree, Elisa developed an understanding of and passion for our food systems – from the range of agricultural practices, to various distribution channels and models, to issues of individual and environmental health. This summer, Elisa interned at Darden Restaurants in the Supply Chain department; she loved working within such a broad and unique supply chain on projects that touched commodity purchasing, distribution scenarios, and more! She is excited to help bring this conference and its important topics to the table at Kenan-Flagler. After graduating she plans to return to the food industry.
